Bronson and I decided to challenge each other to think a bit outside of our normal blogging box.  If you know anything about me, you know that I have a particular style, and I’m not too ballsy about venturing outside of it.  Nothing wrong with that… I just know what I like.  But it’s always fun to try something new, and Bronson challenged me to try to pull of a cabaret look a la Liza Minnelli.  I posed my own challenge to him, which you can see on his blog over at (ir)regular guy.  And, trust me, he kicked my ass in this challenge.  But it was still fun, and I love the look I created.  So we both win!

To pull off my cabaret look, I knew I needed something sexy and smart.  I decided to wear this awesome Mein Herr vest from *Shai*, which, surprisingly enough, looked really fantastic with these amazing Ringleader sparkle shorts from (OMFG), almost like they were MADE for each other.  Then I layered in this really great white button-up shirt from (Musashi-Do), which comes with its own texture-changing InfiniTie.  I chose a black/white/silver striped tie to go with this look, and I think it looks great.  I needed some great fishnets, and I’ve always loved my fishnets from *blowpop*.  Turns out they’re absolutely perfect for this look, especially when paired with my gorgeous Neyya white toe-caps from Maitreya.

Of course, I HAD to wear a bowler, so I picked up this awesome black bowler, also from *Shai*, which comes with a handy resizer script to make fitting easy.  And the best hair I could find to go with the hat was the Bang Bang Bob from !lamb., which works just perfectly underneath the bowler.  To stage the photos, I knew I would need some sexy poses.  So I relied on the awesome poses found in the Diesel Works Modelling Chair, and they certainly didn’t fail me.  And last but not least, a pretty makeup with popping red lipstick from the Alyson skin line at -Belleza- really finished off the look.
