Struggling to Keep Warm

This look came about entirely by accident, but it’s very much a reflection of something I might wear to take my dogs for a walk these days.  You see… it’s so unbearably cold here in my little corner of the world… much colder than any winter I can ever remember having this far south.  And I’ll wear just about anything and everything to keep warm, even if it means I kind of look like a homeless person.  At least I’m warm and toasty underneath!  I’ll admit that there are very few “typically Alabamian” things about me, but whining about how cold it is right now is DEFINITELY one of them.

I got this awesome coat from NINIKO for free, courtesy of the Winter Choice! 2009 CSR.  It is big and bulky, has lovely textures, and is sure to keep me virtually warm.  If you haven’t yet done the stamp rally and collected all the neat prizes, you still have a few days left, so be sure to do it!  I paired it with one of my favorite sweaters on the grid, this gorgeous moss MartinaSweater from [MG fashion].  Then I layered this adorable striped tank from (MNK Shop) underneath and added my favorite fingerless gloves from fri.day for extra warmth.

For pants, I chose these amazing espresso Ishaya velour slacks from Zaara, which are truly exceptional.  And the boots are the fantastic new Autumn boots from Reek, and I love love love them.  I was a good girl and didn’t buy the fatpack… yet.  But I’m not sure how much longer I will be able to hold out.  Finally, I added this amazing new Melanie hooded hair and scarf from fri.day, complete with color-change capabilities for the scarf and hood, which was the perfect way to finish off the look.
