Same Damned Thing Challenge

Same Damned Thing Challenge by Stacie Pryor.

Here’s a question:  what would happen if we all wore the SAME DAMNED THING?  There has been a constant buzz in Plurk and on the feeds surrounding the frustration that bloggers experience when they feel they have lost control over their own blogs and fashion choices.  “I’m so sick of seeing those boots on the feeds”…blah blah blah…  The fact is that, although we may be wearing the same items or items which appear to be similar, don’t we all wear them differently?  Isn’t what we choose to wear an expression of our individuality and unique personalities, and don’t we retain the right to wear whatever we want?

In light of this frustration, Achariya Maktoum posed a challenge:  let’s all wear the same damned thing and see how differently all of our respective outfits turn out.  Let’s prove that one item can be interpreted in a variety of ways.  So, here’s my “Same Damned Thing” post using the Armidi Cambridge Cuffed Shirt.

For the challenge, I chose the Armidi Gisaci Cambridge Cuffed Shirt in Ukraun Purple, which is probably my favorite color offering for this shirt.  I paired it with this super adorable Pink Plaidtop from :: DUTCH TOUCH ::, which comes complete with multiple layer options as well as a short and long skirt.  I chose the longer prim skirt option and the open jacket layer version of the plaidtop to showcase the gorgeous purple blouse underneath, and I think the two accent each other very well.

For my bottom half, I kept it simple with these oh-so-awesome jewelled moss jeans from {Zaara} and uber-adorable London flats from [Detour].  The worn feel of these jeans lends well to a more relaxed look, and the highly-detailed plum flats provide a great accent to the purple blouse.  I wanted to keep the accessories easy peasy too, so I simply added a wood cuff and tigers eye inlaid link bracelet from EarthStones.  Most importantly, I just wanted this look to be a “ME” look…so I kept it simple and relaxed and had fun with it!

For even more variety, look HERE for another interpretation of the Armidi Cambridge Cuffed Shirt that I posted a while back!
