I is for…Inspiration

I is for...Inspiration by Stacie Pryor.

There are a few designers on the grid who simply INSPIRE me.  That being said, putting a look together for the letter “I” was a piece of cake.  Neferia Abel, the mastermind behind the Ivalde label, is by far one of my favorite designers in SL, and I knew I couldn’t do this post without featuring one of her gorgeous dresses.

I apologize if I have been a bit dress happy lately, but it is hard not to acknowledge some of the many beautiful dresses floating around our metaverse.  I am a true believer in the elegance and femininity of dresses, so it is difficult for me to deny myself a nice dress every once in a while.  That being true, the second I laid eyes on this gorgeous black and red Dagmar dress from ~Ivalde Couture~, I knew it was only a matter of time before my inventory claimed it as its very own.

In my humble opinion, this dress is truly a work of art.  I am in love with the immaculate textures used, primarily in the extravagant flowers across the chest and the skirt bottom.  The minute detailing showcased in these gorgeous red flowers seriously makes me weak in the knees.  And I adore the poofiness of the skirt, which rounds out the dress and, much to my surprise, actually moves quite beautifully.

To add a little extra punch to the look, I rummaged through my inventory for some goodies from *ICING*.  I came across an outfit named “Little Bit of Midnight,” which included this awesome feathery boa and super sexy cigarette holder.  The addition of both of these items added a classy touch and a bit of formality to the look.  Although I am not a smoker in RL, nor do I condone the habit, I will say that the addition of this cigarette holder really gave this look an edge.  I decided against using the gloves which came with the Dagmar dress and, instead, opted for these gorgeous black leather gloves from Inimitably Designs.

For the bottom half, I needed some awesome tights and sexy heels, so, on a whim, I added these great tights of the Viella set I purchased from the ~Ivalde Boutique~ line.  These tights exhibit one of the most beautiful and interesting textures I have seen in a pair of tights on the grid in a while, and  I absolutely adore the lovely pattern, shading, and character they add to this look.  I had trouble finding shoes from an “I” designer that pleased me, so I reverted to my old faithful Bloom Boots from Maitreya.  Sorry I had to cheat a little on this one, but for the sake of fashion, sacrifices must be made…LOL!  :)

To finish off the look, I chose a few cute pieces from three different “I” designers.  I desperately wanted to fit in something from Ibizarre, but I couldn’t find something to fit with this particular look.  So, instead, I chose a pair of gorgeous blue eyes from Ibizarre.  Also, I added a gorgeous black pearl choker from *ICING* and adorable ruby butterfly earrings from -Irelyn-.  While searching through my inventory, I found this great onyx fascinator hat from the Sequined Starlet set at *ICING*, and I thought it added a great classy touch.  Last, but not least, all poses used in today’s post are from [Imperial Elegance].  I’m inspired…
