I apologize for all of my posts in the snow here lately, but we don’t get any snow where I live, so I have to live my snow-filled life vicariously through SL. So, I hope you don’t mind that I have been over-indulging the snowy sims and winter wear lately, because I quite enjoy it!
I’m not much of a freebie blogger. Not that I have a personal vendetta against freebies or anything … actually, I love them! The problem with me is that, by the time I do hunts or whatever and get all my freebies, I’m way too pooped to actually unpack and organize them all. I usually do a pretty good job of keeping them all in a folder … could be my FREEBIE folder or a specific hunt folder I’ve created. But, when it comes to unpacking them, I totally suck, which pretty much makes me a loser.
Sometime last week (I forget when), I made it my personal goal to get all seven gifts from the stocking at Fleur. I was there for three hours, but I managed to get them all … even ran into some really cool people like Gabby, Emme, and Swirly, among others. But the great thing about sitting/standing there clicking away for gifts was that I was able to actually rez the boxes I won and unpack them as I waited. This afforded me plenty of time to sort through them all, get everything organized, and throw my empty boxes away. For this reason, these awesome freebies were not wasted in my inventory, and, as soon as I got back home, I was able to try everything on for size. Which is exactly why I am blogging this outfit. Thank you Roslin, for allowing us to unpack our goodies on your land … I am very grateful!
This darling Fair Isle Dress in Merlot was one of the freebies from the stocking, and I just love it. It has a beautiful pattern, lovely details, and a great fit. As soon as I put it on, I knew it would be perfect with this gorgeous Volpe silk blouse from Casa del Shai. I have been looking for an excuse to wear this beautiful silk blouse, but I could never quite find the right outfit to do it justice. So, I tucked it away in my inventory for a rainy day. Well, I found my opportunity and pounced on it!
I absolutely love the amazing silk texture used in this blouse, which is full of sheen and depth. The shading is exquisite, and the big beautiful bow is adorable. I thought it was the perfect match to this uber-cute dress, and I love the way they look together. Since the blouse’s sleeves are 3/4 length, I brought some warmth to my forearms with these awesome polar arm cuffs from Redgrave. Also gorgeously shaded and adorned with great character, these arm cuffs do a great job of pulling the white detailing from the dress and enhancing it.
I paired the darling dress and blouse with these awesome ribbed over-the-knee socks from Fleur, another freebie from the stocking. I absolutely adore these socks, which closely match the Fair Isle dress. They have superb wrinkles and shading, providing the look with a warm and cozy effect. And since it’s pretty cold outside, I decided to wear a pair of thick pantyhose underneath the socks for extra warmth.
I couldn’t think of the right boots to wear with this ensemble, but I knew I wanted something gray, so I went on a search for the perfect gray boots. I looked for awhile, tried on a few demos, but nothing really jumped out at me. Then, DUH! I suddenly remembered that I had been meaning to get over to Lazy Places to grab up the Jax Winter Boots. So, I headed over there to see if I could find them in gray, and, lucky me, I did! And, WOW! I <3 these boots hardcore! I resized them a little for my small feet, and voila, they’re perfect!
Finally, I couldn’t pull off this winter look without sporting my absolute favorite hair/hat combo, the Fuka style in strawberryred from Mirai Style. The snowcap is color-changeable, and the hair is divine. Enough said!
