As you have probably noticed from the last two costumes I have blogged, I tend to try to keep it pretty cute and sweet most of the time. Even in RL, I’m not much of a badass at all; I would much rather laugh and have fun than be ugly to people. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t like to show my sexy side every once in a while. So, here’s one of my sexy, and a bit badass, picks for Halloween…

For some reason, even as a child, I always had a secret fantasy of being a pirate. I know this may sound weird, but, because I was a really shy child (I still am very shy in most respects), I always wanted to fulfill a fantasy of being in charge, in control, doing what I want, when I want, just an all-around BADASS. And, to me, pirates embody the same kind of rebellion against authority that I always had lingering inside of me.

So, when I found this awesome Sexy Swashbuckler costume at Deviance, I kinda just stood there staring at it for a minute. This costume is EXACTLY what I would have done had I tried to design a pirate costume myself. I absolutely love the fact that the costume consists of pants, and not a sexy skirt. Although I am a big fan of skirts and dresses, there is definitely alot to be said about the power of a woman in pants. Especially the power of a pants-wearing, ass-kicking, she-pirate!

In addition to the sexy sexy pants, the top half of the costume is made up of a yummy bra and short coat combo. The sexy bra makes the bustline look really really inviting, and the short coat is so lovely, with its adorable cuffs and awesome button and ruffle details. Add to that a really kickass belt, with a gorgeous buckle, even a rapier, for those times when you have to be a little more forceful than usual. The costume set comes with attachments galore, including swords, rapiers for both hands, and even a rapier attachment to the thigh, which I have chosen to wear here. I couldn’t think of any boots that would be more appropriate than, of course, the Bax Coen Ankle Boots in Patent Black, which really pump the costume up a notch. AND THE HAT! With a gorgeous black feather, the hat really brings the whole look together! Honestly, I couldn’t be more pleased!
