Black Swan Ballerina 5 by you.

At times, I think it’s normal to feel the need to change things up a bit…get out of your own skin and into a new one, one that is completely different from your norm.  I have been wanting to do a ballerina set for a long time now, and, somehow, the perfect pieces fell into my lap, allowing me the opportunity to fully embrace my newfound ballerina persona…

I stumbled upon this gorgeous tutu set on SLex, and my first glance at it just blew me away.  I’m not sure what I was even looking for on SLex, or why, but, somehow, I lucked into finding this gorgeous ensemble, and I knew I HAD to put together a ballerina post ASAP.  And, of course, the first place I thought to shoot was the Black Swan, Rezzable’s own pride and joy.

After purchasing the tutu, I immediately went out in search of ballerina-like poses.  I found a few goodies at Long Awkward Pose, and also grabbed the official Black Swan ballerina pose by Jonny Hunt located at the Black Swan sim.  I wanted to make sure that the poses I used accurately reflected a ballerina’s posture, and I think the ones I chose worked well.

Now on to the tutu set, which came complete with ballet slippers, tights, and an adorable tiara.  As soon as I put it on, I gasped…blown away by the gorgeous detailing in the bodice and tutu.   The beautiful multi-layered tutu provides the exact amount of poof needed to pull off the ballerina look, sporting contrasting shades of red and black which really make the details pop.  The form-fitting bodice enhances the lean ballerina body, and the adorable prim attachments to the upper arms and chest add the perfect finishing touch to the overall look.  And, of course, no ballerina would be complete without her trusty ballet slippers, complete with ankle ribbons and bows.

Although I absolutely loved this look, it just didn’t look right with my normal skin.  I remembered seeing a promo skin on iheartsl.com, the MJ+Dada Diamonds skin located at Ash Style, part of the 1st anniversary event.  I thought it might be perfect, but I wasn’t sure, so I headed over to Ash Style to  buy it anyway, knowing it would come in handy some time in the future, if not for this post.  However, when I put it on, I immediately fell in love.  This beautiful skin, which is alot more pale than my normal skin, gives the whole look a porcelain doll feel.  I absolutely adore the diamond pattern around the eye, the adorable semi-puckered lips, and the smokiness of the eye makeup.  I really think it brought the whole look together, all wrapped up in an adorable little package with a big bow on top.  :)

Finally, keeping in mind that ballerinas don’t wear alot of jewelry, I decided it would be a huge mistake to overaccessorize.  So, I decided to keep the tiara from the tutu set.  Then I added a beautiful black pearl and diamond choker and black pearl earring studs to complete the look.  All in all, I’d have to say that this look is ballerina through and though.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another weekend post from me!
