About a year after Hurricane Katrina hit, I visited New Orleans for the first time, and I have been in love with the city ever since. Now it is one of my favorite cities to visit in the United States, and, being such, it has definitely been on my mind the past few days. Luckily, Gustav saw to spare the city for the most part, but I thought I would do a little tribute blog in honor of my favorite city of sin anyway…
Hold on to your knickers, Cerrie! I’m actually wearing PANTS today!!!!! That’s right! No dress in the Big Easy for me today! I found these delicious pants on the racks at Elephant Outfitters, and I fell in love immediately. I absolutely adore the big cuffs and detailed pockets, and the fit is PERFECT, especially in the bum area! And speaking of delicious, here I am in front of my favorite hot spot in New Orleans, Cafe du Monde, home of the world’s yummiest coffee and beneigts. If you haven’t experienced their world famous beneigts, then I highly recommend them!
I knew I needed an eye-catching top to balance out the dark pants, so I headed over to SLink to see what I could find. I remembered seeing this lovely blouse there before, and I was happy to find it in a myriad of color choices. I opted for the muted gold, which provides exactly the shimmer and sheen I needed. This blouse is the perfect classy addition to the ensemble, and I love love love the the lowcut neckline and elegant cuffs.
Since I am a M*A*ii*K*I freak, of course I can’t deny myself the chance to wear the gorgeous high-waisted patent black belt any chance I get. The outfit needed a funky belt to mix things up, and this one gave me the perfect punch of black to the midsection together with yummy patent leather goodness.
I already had the perfect shoes for this ensemble, so I dug into my inventory and pulled out my trusty Slinky Stilettos in Gold by Maitreya. These shoes are a PERFECT match to the gorgeous gold blouse and add a sexy touch to the tootsies. To keep it simple, I opted not to over-accessorize, so I chose this gorgeous black choker from Swallowtail, simple diamond studs, and my new favorite accessory, the adorable Bloom ring from ~flirt~. Bourbon Street, here I come!
